Nursing and Politics: Hello Students! I am your instructor for your elective nursing course titled ‘Nursing Role in Health Care, Policy, and Politics’. We will spend the next 4 weeks in the blog discussing the role nurses play in policy and politics and why this is important. This blog is meant to be an extension of the classroom. I have been teaching this course for several terms now and I enjoy what all of you teach me throughout the course. It is amazing the articles and videos we find showing the importance of a nursing voice in the political area. Public Law 111-148, better known as Obamacare, will dramatically change the way care is delivered and quite possibly who will be providing the care!!
